Mike Woods is a Nashville-based recording artist, music producer, business owner, and songwriter. He began his music journey at age 11, recording and learning to play instruments in a pawn shop in Lebanon, Tennessee.
He earned a degree in Music Production and Songwriting from Middle Tennessee State, where he interned with seven-time Grammy Award winner Dan Rudin.
Within a year of graduating, Mike signed a recording and publishing agreement with a Warner Bros. imprint. He went on to tour with artists such as Snoop Dog and The Killers, performing at major festivals including Lollapalooza and SXSW.
After three years of touring, Mike moved to Los Angles to focus on songwriting and producing for others artists. During this time, he co-wrote two Grammy Award-winning albums for TobyMac between 2012 and 2017.
He also used this period to build a closer relationship with his father while working with him in real estate.
Mike has contributed vocals, engineering, songwriting, keyboards, synthesizers, mixing, programming, guitar, bass, and background vocals on recordings for a wide range of artists, including Tobymac, Owl City, Riff Raff, and Yelawolf.
He also sang on the Billboard 200 No. 1 albums Eye on It and This Is Not a Test by TobyMac. Eye on It made history as the first and only album in its genre to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, outperforming releases such as Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette, and Slaughterhouse.
Mike is now focused on his project, Mullet Dragon. The debut single, "Candy Colored Porsche", released through his label Neon Savant Records, reached No. 61 on the iTunes/Apple Music Top 100 pop song chart. His follow-up single, "Mullet on My Shoulder", features the artist Riff Raff.
Additional work includes collaborations "Million Dollar Mullet" featuring Riff Raff and Yelawolf, as well as recent work with Playboi Carti, Ken Carson, and Kanye West.
Songs credits also include collaborations with artists and songwriters such as Mullet Dragon, Jeff Barry (Songwriters Hall of Fame), Craig Wiseman (Big Loud Shirt), Blair Daly, Aaron Gillespie of Underoath, Myah Marie(Britney Spears) , Andrew Bayliss (Jellyroll, Koe Wetzel), Matt Mahaffey (Beck, Keith Urban), and BIG DUKE (Kanye West, The Game).
This project is dedicated to Woods' later father, who passed away in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, the same year the project began. In loving memory of C.S.W. Jr. (September 30, 1950 - June 4th, 2020).
